Rear seat release cable broken, can't open trunk!

One day after a ride, I tried to open my trunk via key/cable release. The key turned the lock, but I tell that there no longer was any resistance pulling against the lock.

Basically I think the cable that was hooked into the lock must've come loose. I had installed a fender eliminator kit a while ago and also re-positioned the lock. Something must've happened to knock the cable free.

Anyways, does anyone know of a way to remove the rear seat without using the cable release? The only way I can think of is to just cut the seat in half with a dremel but that seems like a good waste of a seat (and money).

Any ideas please?

trunk? I think everyone thinks you're talking about a truck...

But Im sure there is a way to remove the plastic or sacrifiice a cheaper piece of plastic somehow to get in there.

times like this I'm glad the 929/954 has a flip up trunk with frankenbolts.

try unbolting the tail plastic. maybe you can get it to move enough where you can get your hand in there to pull the cable and release the seat.

Hmm, I'll have to try that out. Thanks for the advice.
