Ruff running

hi pls be kind i am new here but not to bikes - i love tinkering much to the amusement of many cos it never goes right first shot, i have recently purchased a cbr600 F1/Hurricane and love the stability and cornering of the bike specially having come from a custom. The headers were a little shot around the manifold solid but the clamps were showing signs of distress, i have purchased a full system consisting of stainless headers and a nice shiny Chrome end can (road legal and emarked). since fitting the bike has started to run rough with a predetonation or big end knocking under accel - i think it is one of a few things the headers have come loose and i have an air leak , i have a big end failure or the bike needs re jetting - i have been advised as it is a replacement system no rejet req but the headers are 2-1 then each part goes into the end can so it is not as oem 4-1, any ideas welcome before i start ripping into the carbs
sorry for the 2nd post being a info hunting mission but this is my 1st 4pot bike thanks in advance

Re: Ruff running

Getting into the carbs on a bike that old is probably needed anyway. They may be in need of a cleaning and/or rebuild, and rejetting the carbs is always a good idea when improving airflow. May not be needed, but is recommended.

Re: Ruff running

thanks for that i forgot to mention it did not do it prior to the new system which is why i thing its more to do with the jetting - time to rip them carbs apart again and fiddle with the mixture and needle settings

Re: Ruff running

thanks for the welcome F1 i am enjoying it but having come from a Vtwin its waaayyyy different enjoying the corners a bit more now

for all i have found the problem the exhaust had a leak - fixed, i have shimmed the needles - smoother power, and the rattle i'm embrassed to say is the filter rattling in the air box - not yet fixed
