can someone tell me what this piece is called?

as pictured below..its a black rubber circle which goes into the a hole in the gas tank and the ram air cover has a pointed tab that snaps into it? I went through ronayers site and there is nothing in the schematics for it under the fuel tank..

Maybe try the OEM parts finder at yamahaoftroy.com, It may be under "fastener" or something. Good luck.

It's a threaded grommet. You can only find them at Honda shops. I picked up a half-dozen the last line I was at the Honda store. I lost one after changing my air filter. I thought it would be a good idea to have a couple of spares around.

Look in the body work sections on the fiche. You'll find them.

I carry spares of mine too. When I move again and pack out the garage, I'll have about 10 more spares.

They aren't schematics. They are Illustrated Parts Breakdowns. IPB's for short. Schematics show a detailed relationship between two boxes, cards, or systems and, even components. Which aren't to be confused with wiring diagrams which only show the function relationship of a system or systems. Then to which feed into BLOCK DIAGRAMS.......
