Bought crashed bike - no manual - Seat Removal?

I'll probably get flamed for asking but I bought this with no manuals and this seat doesnt come off like any othe bike I've owned. So whats the scoop on my 94 F2? Do I need to peal the rear of the seat back and get those two bolts or ???

I had a 94 F2, but I can't remember now... The bolts accessed by pulling back the edge of the seat sounds right...

The dont look like they connect to the seat with a flashlight, but geez, I cant find any others that make any sense unless I remove the plastics first. I ordered a manual, might have to wait untill it gets here. Thanks.

Ok, so I jumped back out there and removed those bolts... nope. But, in my eagerness to get it off I started pulling plastic, and once the side panels are off, its just like my EX500. You have to pull the side plastic which exposes two side seat bolts. The back two are just for the rear tail light plastic. Doh!

Re: Bought crashed bike - no manual - Seat Removal?

Ok, I finally picked up a manual on ebay for $5 !!! Anyway, I also found a kit that converts the seat into a trunk by replacing the little underseat pan with a bigger one and creates a latch by the tail light that is unlocked with power to the ignition. Has anyone used this before? Its made by Targa and runs $80. Seems like a good investment as thee is no place to store anything on an F2 or F3 otherwise.. thoughts?

I had/have that on the F3 and it worked great. Lots of storage space and very easy to access. Installation wasn't too bad either.

I don't use it anymore since the subframe got tweaked enough in one of the wrecks to not let it work properly.

Re: Bought crashed bike - no manual - Seat Removal?

The left side tail panel has a quarter turn fastener that you can undo with the key and it allows you to pop the left side tail piece off. From there, you will see a couple small storage areas.
Also, there are two bolts that hold the seat to the subframe. They are behind the side panels.
The right side comes off just like the left, but it is held on with a bolt. Once you have both tail sides off, you remove the two bolts and the whole seat comes off as one.

Re: Bought crashed bike - no manual - Seat Removal?

I had that setup on my 94 F2. It uses 2 solenoids with pins to replace the 2 seat bolts. It created more storage space but could be a little finnicky sometimes. Probably worth it if you are going to keep the bike.

I really liked the trunk on the 929.
