f2 & f3 lower engine case

Hi, I was wondering if there is any difference in the f2 verse f3 lower engine caseconfused: I'm asking because my cam chain slide dropped a pice of steel from the backing plate and the crank kicked it up into the waterpump driveshaft journal where the shaft goes into the lower case. Any information regarding differences the the motors aside from heated carbs and the f3 having a trans diven speedo would be helpfull!!!!
