F3 Fairing removal ... As easy as it seems or will I be Sorry??

As it says, I looking at the Haynes manual looks straight forwards enough but previous owner thinks it's a pig of a job.
Comments and tips please??

I really want to do a really good clean before the weather becomes bike friendly

Thanks in advance

Grrrr!!

I havent done it on that bike but I cant imagine removing a fairing being that difficult. All I can say is put the screws back in the original openings after you take the fairings off since they are often different lengths. Other than that I dont have much to say...but good luck.

Re: F3 Fairing removal ... As easy as it seems or will I be Sorry??

i just took them off of my F4i to add some frame sliders and change the oil (found bad news while I was in there but thats a story of its own). Anyway it wasn't that bad. some tight places but really if you can turn a screw and remember when it came from you will be fine. As a matter of fact I grouped all of mine together because they were all pretty much the same, the ones that were different were so much so that I will remember where they go. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine

Its not hard at all but the upper fairing being that its a three piece fairing can be a pain in the ass. Just be careful not to brake any of the tabs.

Hmmm the upper arrangement does look questionable, can't see a desperate need to break it right now, thx Triax.

And thx to all.

BTW Crystal Glo acrylic cleaner is fooking awesome stuff, the white is actually white again, and the Red & Black is 'starting' to sparkle all over
TiGGer happy

Re: F3 Fairing removal ... As easy as it seems or will I be Sorry??

while on the topic of the f3, i had a question... the airbox tubes coming from the solenoid go to a filter, split into two then go where? i have a pdf schematic but it only shows them ending abruptly. email me at winkels3@tcnj.edu for the file and/or more info...i really need it. thanks!

Winkles3>> You're far better off starting a whole new topic in the CBR600 section, mentioning the F3 in the title.
