| Clutch Cover Change I'm getting ready to change out my clutch cover, I have read the service manual and everything seems pretty straight forward but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions/hints/tips on any surprises that I may encounter while doing this. Just wanted to add... this is for an 02 CBR600F4i. |

| Re: Clutch Cover Change Dunno about the clutch cover but if it's similar to the stator cover, you'll need a new gasket and the gasket filler material. If you have the manual you should be fine. |

| Re: Clutch Cover Change its really easy just remove it and replace the gasket. I can't remember what you do about the clutch cable the goes through the top of it.

| Re: Clutch Cover Change Nothing to it. Disconnect the clutch cable and remove the bolts. While you have it out, why not replace the clutch arm shaft seal?
Permatex now has a motorcycle specific silicone sealer that works GREAT! Gray in color. I've used it before. Ron Ayers Motorsports - Discount Motorcycle Parts

Ron Ayers Motorsports - Discount Motorcycle Parts | Might as well, I'm guessing that it will just pop out with a little pressure from the inside? Speaking of the clutch arm, the manual says to rotate it to disengage it from something before removing, any problems getting it to regrip that or just as simple as have it twisted before seating it and it will grab a hold on its own? |

| Re: Clutch Cover Change I don't know but would assume that the shaft is "D" shaped and you have to rotate the shaft so the flat part goes past the obstruction. Putting it back the way you took it out is probably how to do it.

| Re: Clutch Cover Change Haven't taken it off yet (wanted to make sure I had all parts first). It just seemed odd to me that there wouldn't be a gasket there (as told to me by the bike shop). They are saying it just gets some sealant and bolts back on and I'm down the road. |

| Re: Clutch Cover Change I've used permatex RTV in place of a lot of different gaskets and have been pretty happy overall so I don't see why just going with sealant should be a problem. Especially with whatever this new "super gray stuff" is that nedro is talking about. Get some of that and then pull it apart.
