97 cbr 600

I am considering buying a 97 cbr 600 f3. 15k miles for about $4000. It has some extra goodies. Nice paint. I am new to the cbr world. Are there any inheirent problems with this bike big or small. Is routine maintainance fairly easy? How long to the tires typically last? How long does the engine/trans last before an overhaul. Please give me any info you've got. Thanks

Re: 97 cbr 600

my 98 F3 has just shy of 40k on it. as long as you get the valves adjusted at 18-20k and change the oil you should get 100k out of it with no problems. this is if you don't lay it down first i had to replace the voltage regulator on mine but that's it other than standard maintanence. the tire longevity is up to you. i have pilot roads and only change mine once a year. i do between 12-16K. that bike should rock. try to talk him down to at least 3500.00 though. it is ten years old.
