'01 f4i sputtering

I just bought an '01 f4i in los angeles. Bike ran fine down at sea level. I brought it home to Mammoth at 8000 feet and it's now running rough. The "FI" light blinks twice. I think the fault code says it's the map sensor. A buddy looked at the bike and noticed that there is no 02 sensor. The bike has a slip on exhaust. I've reset the computer and it's still giving me the same trouble. Any ideas?

Re: '01 f4i sputtering

O2 sensor has nothing to do with it. Check the MAP sensor. The MAP sensor output voltage is affected by the distance above sea level, because the output voltage is changed by atmosphere.
