WHy should you switch off the fuel?? (CBR F3)

Basically I keep forgetting to switch the fuel off, and if I do, well I don't tend to get too far (Funny, it'll warm up fine but only get about 10 yrds with the switch off)

But the Honda book says switch it off, but I can't figure why it's required having an electric fuel pump

So should I and why?? And will any harm come to the bike? Being left for a couple of days generally between run outs.

Thanks in advance cos this is a pain in the furry bits

its a good habit to get into for safety, and to save you some head ach. the safety side is incase one of your floats in your carb get stuck it prevents gas from pouring all over the floor. the head ach part is it you let it sit for prolonged periods of time the fuel will gum up the jets in the carb

Sorry if this sounds a little ignorant, but being an electric pump I understood nothing gets through it, as opposed to gravity fed carbs that would do the things you mentioned.

This was on my mind, and the reason for posting, if you see what I mean?

I do try to remember, but it's like I need some post it note on the tank

mine is my daily driver but it does sit for a day or two on occasion. but i have never had any problems. usually the only time i turn it off is if i'm working on it and i happen to remember or if i have it loaded up in a truck or trailer.

when i had mine i only shut it off during the winter for the most part but I started doing it more often just incase it were to be stolen they wouldn't get to far unless they were smart enough to fix it.
