F4i starting problems

I used to have an '02 F4i i sold about 2 years ago. The guy that bought it from me called today and said he is having problems starting it. He said the fuel pump fi doesn't prime and all the turn signal lights on the cluster come on. I am not sure what is up with it. Any ideas? I am just trying to help him out.

UMMMMM not you problem so have him take it to a dealer. But if its not getting power its probably a fuse, ground cable, or it may need a new fuel pump.

Re: F4i starting problems

I am trying to be the good friend that I am! Anyways....he is going to get it out here friday...his dad is coming in town to look at it. If he can't figure it out my friend is going to deliver it to my house in a truck and drop it off. I will tinker with it when i have free time.

Re: F4i starting problems

Check to see if it's giving a fault code.

It could be something as simple as a weak battery...

Re: F4i starting problems

That is what i thought maybe...i first had troubles after finishing my project bike i have been working on over winter. It just needed a battery. I guess we will see if he figures it out or gives up and brings it to my house this weekend. Keep checking this if you would, because i may have some more questions if he does bring it out and I can't figure it out. I may be able to give a better description and someone may know the problem

Re: F4i starting problems

Well thanks for the replies....but he said he messed with the connections some more and it is working fine. Could there be any problems you all know of besides he didn't hook them up well? I am not sure but it will be interesting if he gets stranded somewhere.
