Re: 97 CBR F3 won't start

not likely. that's why that main fuse is there. to prevent any damage to any other circuits. If the battery was not charged about one every two weeks during storage as per honda then there a good possibility it was bad before you reversed the cables. As far as i know you are not supposed to jump a bike from car as they have different resistance or amperage and it can cause damage to your bike's charging system. I got a jump box for thirty bucks from wal-mart that i use when jumping my bike or testing stuff. I would try to connect a 12v sourse to the battery leads with no battery and see if you can get it to turn over. if it will, once it's running you should be able to remove the power sourse and the bike should keep runnning if the charging system is running correctly. Keep me posted and we'll get you back on the road asap.

the RR going out will not prevent the bike from starting, just charging. i'm not sure about the ecu, but i'll check on it today.

backward cabels will kill the battery but the rest of the system should have been fine it may have poped the main fuse all of the components in the system could be cooked but only if you turned the key on and left it in the on position.
