turn signal , headlight , shut off problem

i have a 2001 cbr 600 f41 and alot of times when i turn on the key the turn signals stay on and the high beam light stays on but the head lights are dim. the bike starts and the problem persists. when i put on my turn signal the bike dies. somtimes it fixes itself and somtimes it stays like this. any idea what could be the problem

Re: turn signal , headlight , shut off problem

sounds like you are shorting to ground somewhere i would start at the starter make sure all wires are tight and nothing is rubbing any where

Re: turn signal , headlight , shut off problem

yea definitely an electrical problem. make sure all wires are safely protected from shorting each other out. the starter doesn't seem logical to me, since it starts fine and that's all the starter does, but i could be wrong. doesn't hurt to over check things. also keep an eye out for corrosion.

did you make any mods before this problem started? if you did, retrace your steps and make sure none of the wires are crossed or grounding out.
