Sprocket change, what do you think?

I need to get new front/rear sprockets and a new chain. The problem is I have spent a large amount of money on bikes and my wife has had a fit and will not let me spend anything on the bike. So I have a problem.

I am very tempted to get 15/46 sprocket with a DID 530 chain, but from Victorian Motorcycle Wreckers. The sprockets are in near-new condition and the chains arent bad, but I think to get the chains off the bike they simply break it with some bolt cutters then you can reattach when putting it together.

What do you guys think? I cant spend $200 on a new DID chain. Sprockets arent that bad new, but I need to keep this cheap and on the down low. All my smartarse mates think its a bad decision but I am thinking that its better than my rooted sprockets and fully stretched chain.

If you mix old with new it will increase the quickness for the new parts to wear down. You are better off getting all new.

if you're not sold on the DID, RK makes a great set that is only around 150 for the front and rear plus chain. i am going to put their "quick acceleration" kit on early next year. it's just -1 in the front and goes to a 520. i am currently running their stock gearing set with a 530 chain. it runs great and has a 20K miles warranty.
