| Street or Track Will be picking up a new (to me) F3 in June while down in the SF Bay Area. Getting it as a freebie from my friends who have too many bikes and not enough space.
I already have a street bike (Triumph Sprint) and am considering using the F3 as a track bike with occasional street use as a loaner when my buddies come up to visit.
Have never done a track day and am wondering what kinds of things I have to do to get it from street to track ready and back.
I am guessing the taping of lights and no coolant are standard, but what things would I need to safety wire? Anything else I am forgetting? |

| Re: Street or Track since I have never been to a track I have no clue, but it would be interesting if someone could post a breakdown of what all would have to be done to a bike before it goes on track |

| Re: Street or Track Different track day orgs have different rules for safety wiring. The one that I rode with only required oil filter and drain plug to be wired but it is a good idea to wire whatever you can.
edit: in addition to the things you mentioned above, and removing the mirrors.

| Re: Street or Track Put a hose clamp around the filter and wire it up to a header stud or other nearby item (or buy K&N with the predrilled nut on the end)
For the drain plug you drill two holes through it or find one of the HRC plugs that has the holes already. Then you wire it to whatever is nearest that will allow the wire to be running in the right direction (ie, so that for the plug to turn out the wire would be tightening)

| Re: Street or Track Sport Rider-Hands On: Safety Wiring
Pretty good sport rider tech article that covers all of the basics.
