| 1st to 2nd clunk I know we all have the clunk shifting down to first and we all have our little ways to help silence it but does anyone have a clunk going from 1st to second? I can't lay a pattern on when this is happening sometimes when I'm really getting on it, sometimes when I'm putting around. I always use my clutch to shift so for all I know this is normal but wanted to check with you guys to see if it is or if you know what I should replace to get rid of it. |

| Re: 1st to 2nd clunk Gear ratio between 1st and 2nd is the greatest. Velocity differential between those two gears is the greatest. And you will hear the greatest clunk. |

| Re: 1st to 2nd clunk I dont know if this will help or if you tried already, but on my yzf600 if the chain was not adjusted 100% correctly i got awful clunking noises changing gear. As soon as i lubed and tweeked it was fine.
With my honda i dont really have any probs with the greabox apart from a few false neutrals when you really dont need it....
My other theary is TOO MANY WHEELIES!!!!! lol |

| Re: 1st to 2nd clunk wheelies??? me??? if you had seen my videos on youtube than you would know that I would kill myself if I tried to do a wheelie. the only time the front leaves the ground is when i'm hauling ass and don't want it to.
Glad to hear that its the norm both down shifting and up |

Just start in 2nd then there shouldn't be a clunk. Problem solved. Voila! |

It saves the brakes and helps from having to skid the tire |
