| 2006 F4i start problems so my boy borrows my 06 f4i cus no one touches my 929. and he has a fe3w drinks and lowsides right at 70mph+ he says. bar end broke. right turn signal lens. brake rearset busted and scratches. when i got it i jump started it, burned out the extra fuel and then i shut off. the fuel pump fuse popped. i tried a bunch n they all pop, looked in the clip on ignition box n it looks good, tried an extra rectifier n still the same thing, unhooked the fuel pump harness(3 wires) and tried tracing the wire. still. when u hit the prime button the fuse pops. when you turn the key code 10 (a solid red light) comes on n stays in. HELP ME PLEASE! |

| Re: 2006 F4i start problems Per the manual for an 02 F4i (same motor so I'm sure most of its the same)
if it stays lit
Short Circuit in the service check connector
Faulty ECM
Short Circuit in the service check connector wire
Engine can operate normally and still throw this code. |

| Re: 2006 F4i start problems hell yeah! especially if u aint got insurance or the funds to cash it out completely or the repairs plus a lil extra $!!!
actually though, the ecm is fine but the main concern is how it could be that it keeps throwing that fuse even when the fuel pump is disconnected but pops when u hit the prime button |

| Re: 2006 F4i start problems You telling me he isn't footing this bill plus a round of wings and beer at the strip club?? well that just means you get to use a bat during that ass beating
line one and three... the short circuit part. sounds to me like there is a pinched wire that is grounding out the circuit. I wish you luck finding it |

| Re: 2006 F4i start problems yeah, the glass bat (made with a luisville sugger that beat through a few windsheidls)
so why do u think it wuld jus happen randomly after starting it a few times? cus next ima pull everything off n go ahead n cut the harness loom open n try to find it. i thought maybe a rely so i tried switching those too. cus first it started, then it would blow the fuse when i wuld hit the started button, n then/now when i hit the electrics prime button it pops |

| Re: 2006 F4i start problems Okay so now all you have to do is turn the key to start (would normally make the fuel pump prime) it will blow the fuse? |
