Re: f4i blowing fuel pump fuse

Check the kill (cut-off) switch for corrosion. Could have a short inside...

Follow your wires and check for bad spots - are your grounds ok?

Re: f4i blowing fuel pump fuse

do you have a wiring schematic? If you're blowing a fuse repeatedly it's got to be under more load than it can handle - got to be a short somewhere. Either shut your bike down with the kick stand every time or pull apart the harness (sucks I know but every time I've had a problem with my bike and couldn't figure it out I was always thinking too small). I'd find the wiring chart and look at where the engine cut off meets the fuel pump wire, they're probably in tandem.

Re: f4i blowing fuel pump fuse

i would say its a chaff" in the wire. I bet the wire is touching metal somewhere....

That will do it every time...

Re: f4i blowing fuel pump fuse

i thought it was a bad ground wire somewhere cus i tried to run a 16g wire it popped that n a paperclip n it popped a dam paperclip. the bike has minimal rash on it from the slide just scratches busted turn signal cover, rearset bracket and bar end

Re: f4i blowing fuel pump fuse

I'd pull that harness apart before it gets worse.

Re: f4i blowing fuel pump fuse

yeah i figured from the schematic it'll be kill switch associated the big problem is what happens when wires go in the little orange box, i just don't understand that thing, at any rate, friday night i pull the harness and saturday morning i rip it apart
