Carbon flecks coming out of exhaust?

I have noticed when I start my bike that if I put my hand behind the exhaust (was showing the kids how hot air comes out so don't touch) that I will get little black specs thrown onto my hand. Once they are on I can't just wipe them off so I don't think its oil and my only other guess is carbon. Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? I'm going to try to upload a video of it to show exactly whats going on. No mods to the engine, only slip on RT One exhaust. Any ideas on what to do to stop this

Also this only happens for a max of about 30 seconds, after that nothing comes out anymore.

he's an old guy... I think I can take him

93. Could it have been from babying the bike then running the hell out of it this past weekend. I have heard the expression blow the carbon out of it.. but I didn't think it was actually something that could be done.

Re: Carbon flecks coming out of exhaust?

Most likely it's carbon flaking off from the inside of the exhaust system...wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Carbon flecks coming out of exhaust?

Cool. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a sign of a huge problem to come. Thanks for the info
