F2 Timing help!!!!!

I have a 91 cbr 600 f2 that I just purchesed and I'm putting the engine back together and I need to time it but the stock cover that has the timing marks on it was replaced with the aftermarket "Factory" cover that does not have timing marks or the seperate piece that can be removed so that the bike is properly timed. Does anyone have and sugestions???? From what I can tell I have the exauhst and intake cams set right but I need to know what position to put the cranckshaft in becasue the book on the bike is no help whatsoever with having the aftermarket cover on it. I'm just asuming that piston 1 and 4 are suposed to be at tdc and that 2 and 3 are suposed to be at bdc.
