FI 0 blinks Bad ECM?

I searched and didn't find anything relating to this...

I pulled the codes on my 01 F4i and it doesn't blink... I erase the codes the light stays off until I shut off the engine and restart the bike, then the light comes back on, after it goes through the initial Key on cycle. According to the Honda Manual it says that 0 blinks means bad ECM, or short in the wires...

The bike starts and runs great, with never a hiccup.

Anyone have a suggestion on what to look for?

Re: FI 0 blinks Bad ECM?

well, my fi light on the dash switches on once I switch on my contact, It goes out when I switch the engine stop-run button off, and back on when I switch it on, It all started when I accidently swapped the two 9 poled connectors in the front of place, thus connecting the connector for the power to the steering wheel to the pgm-fi connector and vice versa. they are the same but one is black and the oter is white. The bike runs perfectly, only the fi light stays on now.

So by reading threads and stuff I learned about resetting the fault code memory of the ecu by jumping the service check connector with the bike on the sidestand to retrieve fault codes and reset the memory, maybe mine made a wrong connection by connecting to the wrong connector and therefore the fault memory keeps the light on cause it thinks the ecu is faulty.

The thing is, I don't know where the service check connector is on the 2001 cbr 600 f4i. Could anybody please tell me where it is and if this might work??

Thanks a lot guys,

Ben
