06 F4i In Need of Help, Please!

New to the forums, so forgive me if anything is informal about asking for help. I haven't rode my bike in a week. Last night I went to go get some food in my car but I decided to start the bike to make sure she's running good. Started her right up, and then killed it after about 3 seconds and a few revvs. I go to start my bike 5 minutes ago, the fuel injection thing is working, the battery is working, but I get like that starting sound but the engine doesn't fire. Killswitch wasn't on, bike was in neutral, I did everything the way I normally do it. I tired for a good 3-4 minutes then I gave up thinking I'd kill the battery. Any idea's on what could be wrong? I appreciate the help very much!

Re: 06 F4i In Need of Help, Please!

Did you try giving it some throtle?

Maybe you flooded the engine by the quick starting and stoping yesterday...

Keep the starter spinning and give it some throtle. Try gently but do not be afraid to use plenty if needed. If its flooded it will find a sweet spot that will fire her up and then gently try to burn the excess fuell in the cylinders...

Other option is to take everything apart and clean the plugs... not very fun!!!

Yes, I tried giving it some throttle and not even a sign of the engine turning. I don't have any tools or knowledge of fixing bikes so I'm just trying to get a vague idea of what to tell my mechanic so I don't wind up paying extra labor hours. Thanks again for the help everyone.

Re: 06 F4i In Need of Help, Please!

same thing happens to mine whent he battery is low. fuel pump primes, ligths work, guages work, it tries to turn over, but just won't quite do it. Also happens alot after a quick ie 2 minute around the block ride.

a $25 charger is worth it if you don't have one.
