Frame Sliders don't fit

Okay, Ive bought 2 different types of frame sliders, both of them are fit for a cbr 600 f4i years '01-'06. Mines is an '04, and both set of bolts were too thick. Anyone else have this problem?

what do you mean too thick? on an F4i you have to cut the fairings.

Re: Frame Sliders don't fit

Too thick for what?

You can get sliders that bolt onto the outside of the frame with no cutting but the bolt is really small and weak, it screws into the spacer between the frame and plastic.
Dropped my bike yesterday Slider protected the bike but the bolt sheered off at the spacer, now I have get a new bolt and a new spacer or just give it up and drill a hole.
What brand/type of slider do you have?

Re: Frame Sliders don't fit

i had the same year bike as you do and put some frame sliders on myself. i had to use a hole saw to cut some nice holes through the fairings. Fortunately everything lined up perfectly. make sure that you are putting them in the correct place as mentioned by CBR929RE above. they actually go mounted where the engine mounting bolts are. you have to do each side, one at a time so that you have an engine mounting bolt in at all times. then use a torque wrench and torque the bolts to the correct setting. good luck.

Re: Frame Sliders don't fit

Thanks guys, yeah the bolts were too thick for the holes (and I don't have side fairings, I like my bike naked). I got Shogun sliders now, returned the oversized bolts from the last set (can't remember the name). They sent me the wrong size bolts (dumb@**es). Told my buddy about the gum/silly putty thing, worked great for him, thanks!!!
