New Rider & new Problem!! bike has no power =(

Ok I am a new rider, about 2 weeks. This is my first bike a 96 cbr600f3. I have run into my first problem with my battery dying on me, which i beleive is the regulator, i have a charger & have been keeping it well charged. Anyways straight 2 the good stuff, My Bike has no Power. I traced the problem down 2 a fuse, under the left fairing, Its connected to the + wire off the batt & has a 30 fuse. Everytime i put a fuse in and connect the wire it POPS!!! this happened when i was on my way home, a normal low rpm drive? my bike has no power with this problem any ideas???? all info greatly appreciated considering i cant ride till i have power.. down & out

if the fuse pops instantly that says there is a direct short. follow the lines after the battery (if you have point a-b-c, a is battery, b is fuse, the c would be where the short is.) thats where is should be. it could be a bare wire around the handle bars that rubbed all the wire coating off. also could be 2 wires that have been "fixed" before. i came across that the other day a buddy of mine's 91 f2 was shorting out, but instead of blowing fuses it was auto hot wiring itself kinda funny.

but check every inch of wiring after that fuse to see what it could be.

Keep the wheelies off the street though.

Re: New Rider & new Problem!! bike has no power =(

well were coming up on a new riding season & again my bike has charging issues!! So i have read around, it seems to be the plug everyone has that burns up. The plug stated above, the whole connection is melted together! since this happens could i jusy bypass the plugs & use simple wire connectors that clamp on each end. Or i should go out find the connector, connect wires 2 each part of the replacment connector. Which i believe would be the same thing just saving my self the wheres waldo search looking for another connector with both ends? any ideas or input, once again thanks for all the help!

By the way i just bought a 2001 929rr ill have pics of both bikes up soon!
