| Re: Miles ridden this summer about 3k miles total, I had summer classes so I was able to get out there as much as I wanted, lets just say that puts her at 13kish (probably more if some jerk just switched out the gauge cluster which is pretty likely) |

| Re: Miles ridden this summer I'm very disappointed in my milage lately. I'm usually good for at least 13k a year, but I passed my year mark last month on the blade and I'm barely over 10k. Stupid work. The only changes in my life this year that I think are worth the lack of saddle time are the introduction of a pretty amazing girlfriend and coaching my seven year old's football team.
Luckily enough, I am a year-round rider, so I don't dread the end of the season like most. |

| Re: Miles ridden this summer I put just under 3K on mine from March until now. I only got a 6 week summer break and was out of town without the bike for 4 of those weeks. If I had been able to just ride those four weeks I think I would have added another 3K. School seems to use up 6 days a week right now, church and wife use up the remaining day. I'm lucky to get to ride to school 3 days a week and maybe 50 miles on a Saturday.

<--- that's my baby right there (= It's all stock except for +3 teeth on the rear sprocket. Still does 175mph (videos soon : ) |

| Re: Miles ridden this summer I bought my 954 about 1 1/2 months ago with 5300 miles on it and I have put on just over 1700 on it so far. I am going to ride till it snows or I get to cold. Speaking of cold, anyone ride with underarmor cold gear? I figured I could use it riding, fishing or working out outside. |

don't mean to be an ass but no it doesn't. your speedo is lying to you big time. that bike doesn't do 175 with stock gearing.
I haven't done nearly what I had hoped for. was hoping to get to 30k by the end of this year. need just over 4k to get there and it probably won't happen. I've only done about 8k since I bought this bike in april/may of 06. between working a bunch of OT (OT for me is another day of work), finally riding on the track and now taking care of my father during the day when no one else is home, riding time has been limited.

| I was going to say the same thing earlier but decided to "not go there." But the speedo is definitely "optomistic." Mine is optomistic by about exactly 10% without any gearing changes. With your gearing changes and the factory error you could be off by anywhere from 10-17% so subtract 17-25mph from whatever your speedo is showing.

Aw man... don't steal my thunder!
Either way, the speedo said 175 with both the stock gearing and the +3 teeth, even if the actual speed isn't that much. |

A bike engine, treated properly, and considering the less mass it has to move, I'd think should easily outlast a car. I had a neighbor in Arizona who hasn't owned a car since he bought a brand new Goldwing in 1980. As of 2005 it has 250k miles on it and it still ran great... much better than two or three year old sportbikes some of my friends street raced everywhere. |
