Air Filte Help

I was wondering if some one can tell what all I need to take off my bike to get to the air filter. I already know that the tank cover and tank need to be lifted up but is there any fairings that need to come off with it?

You'll probably have to remove the ram air covers before taking the tank cover off. They are attached via a screw to the mid-fairing, "peg-n-"hole" to the upper fairing, and two tabs to the tank cover (which probably could be left alone). You might also have a push pin that attaches to the ram tubes from inside by the forks.

Re: Air Filte Help

I was think some more and you will need to take the seat off and remove the seat bracket (black cross member that is attached with four bolts and nuts) this way you will be able to tip the tank up and give you some more room to work. The front two tank anchor bolts should be enough and slowly lift the tank because there are hoses below the tank that might need some help.

As for holding the tank up you can run a bungie from the front part of the tank to the anchor that holds the pass seat down.

Taking the seat off too will give you access to the two bolts that hold the rear part of the tank cover down.
