F4i fuel pump wont prime

Hello all, first post.

I have a yamaha blaster that i put a 900 mile '02 CBR600 F4i motor into. I have every stock piece from the bike except fuel tank and ignition switch. Airbox, wire harness, fuel pump, tip sensor ,radiator ect. I have it hotwired with a piece of wire with 2 blades on the end.

Problem i have is that the fuel pump is not priming. I dont have a volt meter but do have a probe . I turned on the bike and put the probe in the brown wire side of the connection on the wire harness thats for the fuel pump, the light on the probe is really dull compared to if i stick it straight to the battery it is really bright. Could this be caused by a relay? tip sensor? Ignition switch not wired right?

Any help is appreciated.

On something like this you will save yourself a lot of headache if you get a volt meter.

It could be any of the things that you mention above. The tip sensor has to be set up exactly right. Do you have any fuses wired into it? Easy place to start checking. I would also test the fuel pump by directly "jumping" it just to make sure that it works. Connect it directly to a 12V source and see what happens.

Fuel pump is good. Checked that. Would the tip sensor stop any juice from getting to the fuel pump? Is there a way to bypass the tip sensor?

wiring harness is all there, all fuses are good. Fuel stop relay does click.

Thanks

The wiring diagram of the F4 harness should show you what needs to be jumped out. Trace the lines between the fuel pump and the battery. The location on that trace which has 12 volts between some component or connector is what you are looking for.
