f4i headlight/fuel issue I tried searching, but since my symptons are different, I decided to make this thread. Me and my friend changed out my front forks yesterday, so we took off the front fairing/headlight. Put everything back, tried priming the bike, but nothing happened. The fuel pump didn't even turn on, and my headlight wasn't on either. Left turn signal indicator was on, and wouldn't flash when I signaled. It just stayed on. Also, kept popping my headlight fuse under the seat. Took the front fairing off, and checked all the connections, and they seem fine. Put everything back, and continued to pop fuses. Then, both turn signal indicators stayed on, and bike would still not prime, or start.

Re: f4i headlight/fuel issue I recommend that you purchase a manual. You should probably look for a shorted hot wire, because that's what's causing the fuses to burn. Maybe you could tell us which fuses are popping?

| Re: f4i headlight/fuel issue Sounds like a short somewhere. Check the everything over closely for any chafing or exposed wires...

Re: f4i headlight/fuel issue Bike has been down for over a week now. Can't find any exposed wires. Left turn signal indicator on dash stays on constantly. Headlight still won't turn on. Fuel pump won't even prime, so I can't even crank the motor. I hate my f4i. Really thinking of getting the 600RR, which I have wanted for a while now.

Re: f4i headlight/fuel issue I don't know if it's even possible on that bike, but maybe you have the left and right combo switches plugged in to the wrong connectors???

Re: f4i headlight/fuel issue My relays were dirty, and weren't getting a good connection. So, my friend repinned, and soldered them. Bike starts up, still runs like ****.
