Anyone have a picture to show where you cut and mounted? What brand they are and any additional info,comments.

There's a place where I'm wondering if these can go, but I'm not sure that's where they bolt to. I want to order some, but I want to know if I am for sure going to have to cut, or if there is an exposed place. I don't want to get the "No-Cute" one's with extended brackets. Heard too many bad stories about those. ANYONE?

You most definitely ARE going to have to cut. Set the lower cowl onto the bike locate where the bolt that mounts the motor to the frame and mark it. Get a hole cutter drill adapter, and figure out the diameter of the frame slider. make sure the hole cutter is roughly 1/2" larger diameter than the frame sliders. Drill at the location you marked off and after instalation of the sliders, check the fit. Its rough, but thats the way I was able to do it. Just take your time lining up the center spot. After that its pretty easy. You wont remove a lot of material. Just like a crescent shape out of the lower cowl above the body mounting hole located below the vent hole. When I get the bike out in a week or two, Ill take pics and let you see EXACTLY where the cuts are made...

I forgot to tell you, the sliders go at the lowest, forward most mounting point of the motor to the frame. With the cowls off you will see it no problem. Remove the factory mounting bolt and the frame slider replaces the mounting bolt that was there.

Awesome, thanks. I figured I was going to have to cut, and it's really no big deal. I've cut fenders for sidemarkers on cars, should be pretty similar. Measure twice, cut once.

Exactly. Like I said, Ill have the bike out, probably not this week, but the next. Ill take pics of the cowls so you can see where the cuts are. Also, google for pics. Put in the year and model of your bike and add "+pics" I.e. 97 Honda CBR 600 F3+pics
It should bring up pics that you can see exactly where to cut.

Another question, the cover right below the cbr sticker on that bike. is it removable to where i can sand and polish it or paint it, or is it a whole piece? my bike isn't here for me to look at it closely enough. It's an eye sore on mine though, since my paint is all white, my wheels are black and polished and almost everything else ive polished.

That cover is removable, but its a major cover, you'll have to do some other things if you take it off. If your going to do that, take it to a shop and have them do the work to remove it and get what you want done and have them replace it. That would be your best bet if you dont want to run into a whole mess of other problem. When it comes to any changes to the motor in anyway, other than bolt ons, I take it to my local shop. They do all of that.

i've got a tip.... DONT cut the panel. first take off the panel. take out the frame mounting bolt, replace it with the longer bolt that comes with your sliders. paint the end of the bolt with any household paint, dont worry as you wont see it when the slider is fitted. now offer up the panel, as if to re-fit it. the paint will leave a mark on the back of the fairing. drill a pilot hole though the panel in the centre of the paint mark. now with a 28mm hole cutter bit, drill through the panel face up using the pilot hole as a guide. these are the instructions i got with my r&g sliders and the end result is far neater than just guessing where to cut.
