| Re: Storage... how long will you be gone? I would put it on a trickle charger. Have you been riding already this year? I figured it would be too cold in CT. Anytime your bike sits for more than a few weeks, it should have at least these 2 things done to it. |

| Re: Storage... gone until mid to late July. Yuk! I have already been riding, around town and here and there. The bike is new and my first one so I want to do it right. Where is the battery? |

| Re: Storage... under the front seat. make sure u use a trickle charger. it won't burn up your battery. you don't wanna come home and have to buy one of those too. battery tender makes some nice ones. You may want to fog your engine down too, so your rings and cylinders dont rust. I don't know if the 600 has steel sleeves or if it is like the 954. either way, if your rings or cylinders rust it will be bad for you. it may not show up for a couple years, but it could mean a new engine later. |

| Re: Storage... Change the oil and filter, it's not good to store it with dirty oil.
Add Stabil to the gas tank, run it for 5 mins or so to get it into the injectors.
Put the battery on a Battery Tender, which will charge it, and then go into storage mode, and it'll recharge as needed.
Lube the chain.
Clean the bike.
Throw a sheet over it. |

| Re: Storage... fogging can be tricky on a bike. It is most important during fall and spring when temps can vary drastically. the temp changes can cause condensation on the cylinder walls which can and will cause rust and corrosion. You can buy fogging oil at most dealerships, or marine dealers. You have to take your airbox cover off and spray the oil directly into the throttle bodies. which requires lifting the tank. If your bike is stored in an area that is heated and stays a pretty constant temp, you can skip this step. fogging is not needed if you store it in your house or a heated basement or garage. only where temps can vary enough to cause condensation. Just put it in your bedroom and call it a day |

| Re: Storage... Clean the bike, polish/wax it, prop it up onto paddock stands and whack a cover over it (as well as adding stablizer + trickle charger - I use an Opitmate SP3)

Guy | Put some Stabil in the fuel and let it run for a few minutes. if the oil hasn't been changed recently, before you store it would be the time. I would disconnect the battery. Quote:
