I know the main reason you get a CBR600 is not for fuel consumption, but the power you have (and reliability when it gets to Honda). The reason for the consumption question, is to see how much I will save on fuel every month. This will have a huge influance on my budget and maybe help me to justify buying a slighly newer model.

I noticed on an online conversion site, that mpg between UK and US are calculated different. Or is this conversion site just

Quoting from Wikipedia:

US Gallon is different than an Imperial (UK) Gallon.

U.S. liquid gallon is legally defined as 231 cubic inches, and is equal to 3.785411784 litres (exactly) or about 0.13368 cubic feet.

Imperial (UK) gallon is legally defined as 4.54609 litres (≈ 277.42 cu in), which is about 1.2 U.S. liquid gallons.
