i am new to this site and new to my 04 cbr f4i. i love my new bike! i was reading alot of the threads and i think joining the site will save me alot of trouble in the future, but my bike being a honda i dont anticipate many problems.

i did have some trouble today though. i rode all week and five hours yesterday without issues. today on the way home i had alot of trouble getting the bike into 2nd. it goes from 1st to neutral. i tried shifting harder and shifting lighter. it seems to shift fine at lower rpms. i also noticed it only happened after the reserve gas came on. the bike only has 6k miles so i can't imagine the gear box is trashed unless the former owner is a complete idiot. any help is much appriciated.

clutch is not electronic. try taking up some of the play in your clutch. It may not be disengaging fully. the reserve light is just coincidense these bikes have no skip shift eliminator.

My bad in addition for got to mention. the f4 and f4i have a defect in the clutch pull shaft in the clutch cover. Honda has updated it from a hollow shaft which wears and breaks easy to a more rigid solid shaft.

thanks dude, i appriciate the responce. since i just bought the bike i sent it back to the dealer yesterday for repair. if they don't take care of the problem they'll get an ear full! thanks again
