operating temperature. What is normal?

A little strange question coming from a gixxer rider, but I came across an 04 600RR that I am going to make into a track only bike.

Riding the big gixxer around town in traffic, I got used to seeing temps getting up to 215, sometimes in really hot weather up to 221, when the fan comes on. I talked to other Gixxer owners and some guys on the R1 and it was pretty unanimous that it's normal. They said start to worry at 230 and shut the engine off at 240.

My question is, are you guys on the 600's also seeing these temps while riding around in city traffic?
