Hi,

I'm a student who is part of a university race team and we use a Honda CBR 600R engine with our vehicle. Our engine has a habit of gaining fault codes to the point that the ecu will not let the engine start.

I've been recently looking for a tool/device to connect to the ECU to clear these fault codes but any kind of device available is made for use with OBD-II compliant engines which ours isn't.

Whilst I know little about motorbikes I felt that someone here might be able to give me a knock in the right direction of a useable tool or tell me it is not possible.

Last year we managed to borrow an expensive Honda tool which sadly we're not allowed to borrow this year which causes us to have a slight problem when it comes to using the engine.

Any answers will be gratefully received.

The University of Windsor (Ontario Canada) has an Formula SAE race car powered by a cbr 600 Honda engine. I knew somebody on the team. Here is their website and click contacts. I just hope they aren't your competitors. Try to contact the powertrain guy and maybe he can help. Good luck.
