1997 F3

Hello all,
I am new to riding and for my first bike i bought a 1997 F3. I have had the bike for about 2 months now have had it serviced and all. To day I had my first problem. I was riding to work this mourning and the bike started to surge a little like it was getting no gas. So i rolled on the throttle the bike picked up speed. So i thought no problem i came to a stop sign and everything was good. So i procedded on i get about 100 feet from the stop sign and the bike dies cuts completly off. I dont have a the fue valve switch on the bike so i got to the side of the road and turn it to another positon thinking i had it in the wrong positon. So i start her back up proced to roll on i get another 100 or so feet and she dies again. I finally get her to work with the help of a buddy and his truck. I get to work and start working on her not really knowing what i am doing. But i did find another problem i could start the bike up and try to put it in gear and she dies again. Well i check my fuel filter and fuel pump and everything seem to be working fine. I got a call from one of the owners at a local shop and told me to check the kick stand switch after traceing it out come to find out i had a few conector loose up under my seat reconected them. And road it home from work with no problems.

Has this ever happend to anyone?

Thanks

Re: 1997 F3

Sounds like when it was serviced, they didn't put it back together properly. I would go back to the connector and disocnnect it and see how much force it requires. If it is easy, better do something to make it hard. If it is hard, then plug it back in and continue to ride.

Re: 1997 F3

I put a wider tire on the front of my '97 f3 and now the front fender rubs. How do I raise the front fender?
