Lowering my bike...1,2,or 3"?

I am planning on lowering my bike, but I'm not sure which will benefit me most. Vortex link offers 1" or 3". Another link only offers a 2". Any opinions are welcome. Thanks

depends on what you want it for. If you still want to hit corners hard I would go one inch max.

Pretty much what I was thinking.. The gap up front is mainly what kills me. I think it will be a bit more comfortable ride once it's a tad lower. Corner hitting is a must.

Don't lower your bike unless you absolutely must, even then, I would consider taking a little foam out of the front sides of the seat before you start messing with the geometry of the bike. Lower the bike changes the handling, stopping, cornering, steering stability, safety, etc... Racers change the Attitude (front to back level) by 3-5 millimeters and notice HUGE differences in overall handling. you are talking INCHES. They are also tweeking with the guidance of suspension pros. Be very careful when considering altering the hieght of your bike...

anything more than one inch and you'll have some problems when you start cornering, i would take foam out of the seat or get a higher pair of boots before lowering it.

What do you mean about the "gap up front"? Agreed with what's been posted, if you still want the bike to corner properly, don't lower it.

I was thinking perhaps that was perhaps what he meant. If so, that's not really a good reason to lower the bike, it's supposed to look like that. Mostly people lower them if they are drag racing, or are too short to touch the ground.

I know what it's "supposed" to look like. I like the look of a lower bike. i believe i will benefit from a mild drop. The f3's fender to front fairing gap is unsightly to me.

That's cool, so long's you know it may affect the handling.

Re: Lowering my bike...1,2,or 3"?

why lower at all? if anything raise the tail to put more weight on the front thus giving more front end grip. but is it really worth it for the road? if it's just so you can reach the floor get the seat height reduced by removing the foam, as mentioned. if you want to adjust seat height hyperpro do a rear shock with ride height adjuster, they also build it to your weight. probably the best money i ever spent.
