Developed a rattle opposite to CCT?

Hi, This is my first post and I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a very low mileage (7.5k km’s) ‘03 CBR600f. It has recently developed a rattle, which I thought was the CCT until I discovered the CCT is on the opposite side the where the noise seems to be coming from.
It is not a very pronounced or loud sound but it was not there before now and also the engine is hunting slightly. The revs are increasing a small bit and then dropping where as before they were totally smooth.
My friend also has the same bike and his makes the same noise only louder.
Any suggestions?

Re: Developed a rattle opposite to CCT?

Opposite as in front to back or side to side? It isn't the CCT that makes noise when it goes bad. It is the cam chain that rattles when the CCT goes bad and it will rattle on the front of the engine where the CCT is kind of on the back. Does it sound like a bunch of buzzing BB's or ball bearings? If so it probably is the CCT. Mine started at about 5500 miles. You only hear it from 5000 to 5750 rpm's on mine.

Re: Developed a rattle opposite to CCT?

The noise seems to be comming from the left front side and is not RMP specific.

Re: Developed a rattle opposite to CCT?

Okay, then probably less likely to be the CCT then.
