My 2002 F4i

My 2002 f4i wont kick over. I believe from these forums that is it the Bank angle sensor. I don't wanna buy on unless i know that that is why my bike wont start. Is there a way to reset it? I actually cant even find it on my bike. Does anyone have picture or a diagram to to show me where it is? Thanks

Re: My 2002 F4i

Don't remember for sure but pretty certain that it's behind your instrument cluster. And if you need to check that it's just that, instead of buying a new one, just bypass it with a simple jumper wire. If that solves the issue then yes that's what it is. At that point you can either leave the jumper wire permanently attached (which is what I have going on with my Interceptor since 2001) or purchase the new unit and replace the faulty one.

Re: My 2002 F4i

YOUR TIP BANK SENSOR IS LOCATED IN THE NOISE OF YOUR BIKE. I HAVE A 2002 F4I AND I JUST HAD THIS PROBLEM ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO. TWO SCREWS HOLD IT IN PLACE, ONE OF MY SCREWS FELL OUT AND PRETTY MUCH CAUSED A LOT OF PROBLEMS FOR ME. ONE WAY TO TEST IF IT IS THE SENSOR, RUN LEADS OFF YOUR BATTERY TERMINAL AND HOOK IT TO WHERE YOUR FUEL PUMP HOOKS TO THE WIRING HARNESS. THERE SHOULD BE THREE WIRES, ONE FOR TO YOUR FUEL LEVEL SENSOR AND THE OTHER TWO GO TO THE PUMP. IF THE FUEL PUMP KICKS ON IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY YOUR TIP BANK SENSOR. ANOTHER THING TO TO CHECK SINCE YOU WILL HAVE THE NOISE OF YOUR BIKE OFF. THERE IS A PINK WIRE ON THE FRONT OF YOUR BIKE THAT GOES TO YOUR "ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM". YOU SHOULD HAVE 8 TO 9 VOLTS RUNNING THROUGH IT. THE PINK WIRE SHUTS OFF THE FUEL PUMP AND SPARK TO YOUR BIKE IF SOME ONE MESSES WITH YOUR WIRING HARNESS FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD. ALSO THE NOISE OF YOUR BIKE HAS TO BE PLUGGED IN TO THE WIRING HARNESS AND STUCK BACK ON THE FRONT OF YOUR BIKE.
