F4i injection on an F2 motor??

I know it sounds dumb but here's why: I am running a 600cc F2 motor in a race car and am having trouble jetting for the individual air filters I need to run due to space constraints. I can purchase an F4i throttle body and full wiring harness for very little and it seems like it would be more versatile than carbs in the end. The F2 motor is in perfect condition too.

The question is, will the wiring harness from the F4i work on the F2 motor? I realize I may have to add some sensors and whatnot but will the stator and all be the same?

Thanks for reading, I am not that experienced with motorcycle things but am being forced to learn.

It isn't going to work. You have timing issues, you have redline issues and then the mapping will just be 100% off between the two motors. You would need a custom ECU and thus no need for the F4i wiring harness. I doubt the throttle bodies will bolt right on.

Why not find an F4i motor?

Thanks for the reply. The reason to keep the F2 motor is cost. I am not that familiar with the changes between the F2 3 4 motors. I have heard of folks using carbs on the injected motor so i was wondering if it could go the other way. Thanks

Yea if cost is the issue then none of the solutions out there will be worthwhile. You will wind up spending as much as a new bike to get that to work out right in the end. You might want to look at an aftermarket set of carbs instead. While expensive, they can get you some gains and wont kill your pocketbook as much as other solutions...

Or you could just hold onto the money, sell the bike, use what you were going to spend and buy a new(er) bike.

He just needs the motor as it is in a car not a bike. So there is no bike to sell.
