Headlight wiring question

I looked quickly thru the threads but didnt see anything directly related to this. I have a 2001 CBR 600 F4I and the Low beam is almost useless. The high beam works great and I now use it day/night to make sure I am seen. I have noticed that both HIGH/LOW beam lights use the same bulb - H4 (or 9003) I believe. Is it advisable to rewire the headlights so that I am running HIGH beam on both lights?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Headlight wiring question

Researched it and it is a 55W H7, in fact, had to look at the Honda parts book at the dealer. Same bulb both sides. Only thing I can think of is that the previous owner put a silverstar in the high beam and left the low beam alone.
Researching HID now.

Have you tried adjusting the lights first?

Re: Headlight wiring question

new guy here...

I just bout an '01 F4i, and I noticed that only the left headlight turns on when the bike is running, but when I flip the high beam switch on the right bulb turns on high.... meanwhile the left headlight does not get any brighter.

Is that how it was wired from the factory? I cant imagine it is..

Re: Headlight wiring question

Yep, but each light is aimed differently.

Why is it hard? Both bulbs are single filament; it is eiher on or not.
