fitting Endless chain (on the 1999 CBR600 F4)

I have heard that to fit an Endless chain on the 1999 CBR600 F4 you have to remove the swingarm, so you can get the chain through. Seems like a lot of work. Do people really do this? or do they use the special chain tools to pull these endless chains apart and then put them back together.?

Thx for your reply.

So i do have to pull the chain apart and the put it back together again? Though Doesn't that negate the purpose of the endless chain? isn't it better just to by a chain that isn't endless and then rivet it together? Sorry for my noobishness, relearning stuff

when you buy a new chain you get a master link you rivet in on an endless chain rather than a clip connection.. You have to replace the master link if you split the chain to remove

Re: fitting Endless chain (on the 1999 CBR600 F4)

Thx again for your troubles

I understand the the difference between the old way using the split pin and the new way using the clip.

My confusion lay with the definition of (endless chain), I presumed that endless literally means that the chain is deliverd to you new in the box CLOSED i.e. with the clip already fitted. In Holland that seems to be what they are selling. But you are suggesting that endless means that the chain is not closed but you get given the clips to seal it.
?
