High Idling...What's the prob ?

There's a # of Q's I have but one is I just bought a brand new Yuasa battery for my bike...Cbr600F4i and everything's all good but it won't seem to idle any less than 3 grand rpm. I adjusted the throttle stop screw but that's the lowest it'll go. The weather is also cold, and I know to let it run for about ten minutes, and I did. Still, stuck at 3 grand. ANy help ? Thanks? Appreciate it !

hiya DMat,

It won't be the battery.

Is the throttle shutting fully? May be worth checking engine side to see if there is any play left when the throttle handlebar grip is fully off.

Cheers
Martin

The bike does have a wax in the throttle bodies to let the idle be high when cold. I never let a bike idle for 10 minutes. As soon as I see the temp on the gauge I'm off but take it easy.

This problem started right after the battery was replaced?

Yes, What could be going on ? I already made sure there was no free play or hang-up on the throttle cable also but thank you..Good looking out. Also, I might add..What temperature does the radiator fan suppose to kick in I was told 213 degrees now what could be causing that NOT to happen ? I'm thinking the idle is staying high because of the cold weather it was 40 degrees the other night.
