90 cbr600 No Spark

Recently purchased this bike, ran fine till it stopped while riding. Towed it to the house. I have no spark. Checked the Ign switch/good. Checked the run switch/good. Checked resistance of pulse generator/4.3. Manual told me spec was 3.5 - 5.3. So I replaced the control unit. Same problem. Is there another way to test the pulse generator? Am I missing something? All electrical connectors and plugs check out ok.
Thanks,
Andy

Re: 90 cbr600 No Spark

i had a similar problem on my blade....

it was a broken wire...(mine was only firing on two)

you basically have a triangle of wires
CDI->Ignition Coil
CDI-> Pulse generator Coil
Pulse Generator coil-> Ignition coil

i had a break in one of those . . . found the fault doing a continuity test on the wiring, and fixed it by replacing the wire! the connections were fine, so i just cut the wire and replaced it using the connections at both ends.

2 weeks later same thing happened on the other two cylinders (they all work in pairs, hence only 2 Coils)

never skipped a beat since!

before i found the fault i replaced the CDI, pulse generator coil and the coils & HT leads! all of that expense, and the root cause of the problem cost about 0.01p! (i aquired the wire needed from work!!!)

hope this helps
