F4 Help

need some info on what could be wrong with my 1999 cbr f4. i bought the bike in the fall with a salvage title and switched it into a different frame. Now it has an intermittent starting problem that i dont think existed before the frame switch. Sometimes it will start perfectly fine, then you turn it off and a few minutes later it will just crank and crank.

I took it back apart and cleaned the carbs, two of the idle jets were pluged but it doesnt seemed to have helped.

the battery is band new, holds a good charge and sounds stong when im trying to start it.

the plugs look brand new and all of the gaps are good

IM OUT OF IDEAS AND OUT OF PATIANCE!

is there anything in the electrical system that is prone to failing that would give it intermitant spark?

Re: F4 Help

double check your grounds, you could have a problem with your cdi box powering up.

Re: F4 Help

With the air box off i can crank it over and spray starting fluid (ether) down the carbs and it doesn't fire. So it looks like there isnt any spark.

there is power to the coils (1.00<1.35v or so) so im going to pull a plug, ground it with booster cables and see what kind of spark im getting, maybe the coils are bad.
