| Random engine power loss?! The other day I was riding on a back road at 35 mph at around 5,000 rpm, not pushing it at all when all of a sudden I had a huge engine power loss then after a couple of seconds the engine cut off. I pulled over started it and the engine will not hold idle without opening the throttle half way. The idle is very choppy almost like a cylinder is not working. Any ideas what this could be?
Thanks |

| Re: Random engine power loss?! They all do have spark. Also there is a slight knocking sound. Just to let you know this all happened at once as if something broke. The bike was running great up until that point, so I don't have a clue. |

I'm wondering if the timing has slipped -

| Re: Random engine power loss?! So I took the bike to the shop and they replaced the chain tensionor. On the way home the bike ran great until I pulled up to a light and when I let out the clutch the engine was running really rough. The bike stalled out, I started it back up and it was still running rough with little engine power. So I gave a lot of throttle to get it out of traffic, then when I pulled to the side the bike acted like nothing gone wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks |
