If you really don't know much about working on bikes you might want to take it to a shop to do a head bearing adjustment. Should be about $50 dollars. If not download the pdf service manual. Head bearing may be loose. If your friend is a more experienced rider ask him to ride it and see if it's unusally loose.

New to riding.... problems with the steering wheel... they haven't sold you a Civic have they???

On a serious note, have you tried checking that the tyre pressures are correct and that the tyres are OK?

Tyre pressures can affect the handling and should be correct and checked regularly.

Tyre wear can affect a bike too (much more than with a car). Rear tyres typically square off, whereas fronts become pointed (dependant on use) and both can affect the handling.

Re: whats up everyone

hopefully it is that and not serious. i let my buddy take it and when he took off it seemed like it was fishtailing a little bit. the best way he could explain it is that he said it felt like the weight was all on the front end and the steering wheel wanted to turn on its own if he let go. i hope this isnt that serious. anymore input let me know.. thanks again....
