PGM-FI UNIT

I have an 01 CBR600f4i that ran fine last friday then suddenly when i went to start it monday there was a buzzing sound (as I pushed down on the start button) from the PGM then the start relay was clicking. I used some mechanical agitation on the relay with a screw driver and the bike would start and run. turn it off and the process started all over again. I know that mechanical relays the contacts can get bad so I purchased a new relay well that didnt work so now im thinking the buzzing from the PGM might mean its done.......has anyone had this problem? Do I basically part the bike out because a new PGM is $800
