| Honda CBR600F4i - No Prime = No Start? I just got a somewhat wrecked (body damage) 2006 Honda CBR600f4i. The bike has been sitting for 9 months and hasn't been started once. Only 9k miles on it. I know the previous owner and have ridden with him several times. I'm somewhat already familiar with the bike. I was messing around with it today to see if I could get it to fire up or not. The battery was dead and not holding a charge so I just hooked it up to my car with some jumpers (again just to see if it would fire up for a sec).
I got all the lights on the display to come on and the bike appears to be turning over just fine like it wants to start. After a few off and on's with the key I noticed that when turning the key to the start position (before actually starting the bike) there are no noises like before when the previous owner had it. He also noticed this. It use to make like a whine noise or something like it was pumping fuel to the engine or whatever it does right when you turn the key. I'm just guessing that it may be the fuel pump? Is that what happens when you turn the key to this type of bike? I check all the fuses under the seat and didn't see any other. They appeared to all be good. Not sure where the pump is located but whatever those noises are that's certainly the problem. Thanks in advance. |

tip-over switch
damaged wiring
damaged computer
get you a manual and start trouble-shooting.
not trying to be smart but, if you want to own a bike, you gotta learn to work on them.

| Re: Honda CBR600F4i - No Prime = No Start? you have to test it, located in the front fairing stay area....you disconnect it and place a jumper wire in to bypass it to see if it might have been damaged.
