I bought a 99' F4 this year in Denver. I live in the mountains and do most of my riding between 8,500' and 12,000' of elevation. I don't really have the $$ to deal with rejetting. I am pretty sure the bike is jetted for sea level. Everything on the bike is stock besides an aftermarket pipe.
I was thinking about adding a K&N filter to try to increase airflow and return more power. This makes sense to me, is it a good idea?

No, a) k&n sucks...go with bmc
b) at that elevation just changing the air filter wont make much difference if any
