i could, but i already had these gears lying around. how many would you drop , i am at 15 now.
i am looking to have more responsiveness down low since i cant seem to keep it high ( i think it is the sound, i hear the high revs and shift instictively) especially since buying the twin |

Give this a try before you go any further, you are at 3.20 to 1 with 15/48, so 14/48 will bring you to 3.43 to 1. This is getting pretty low already, but that's misleading depending on where you are going to run the bike. Road Atlanta's back straight would seem to require something quite a bit higher (like 15/43 or so), but then I'm not certain where you are running these days . . . |

i think road atlanta will be the exception to my track riding - as i can only seem to get on there 2 times per year with nesba. Probably more like Jennings, CMP, maybe VIR |

| Re: gearing The F3 stock is 15/43. The F3 responds very well with a 14 countershaft sprocket. I kept 43,45,46 and 48 tooth rears in my van. To be honest, I found the 14/46 combination very much to my liking at most tracks, and a good place to start when finding the optimal gearing. |

| Re: gearing i had a 15/46 on my F3. It helped quite a bit down low for the 2nd gear wheelie. top speed dropped to about 135 from 145. (or so the speedo said...but I never went that fast... ...much)
(back in the day squid talk, please understand...things have changed... a little)
